Eddersheim weir is a significant hydraulic engineering structure on the Main River at river kilometer 15.55 and a protected industrial monument. It is located in the Eddersheim district of Hattersheim and is the second weir upstream from the confluence.
Structure and Technology
Constructed between 1929 and 1934 in the Bauhaus style, the entire structure comprises several functional components:
Double lock: Consists of two chambers with a usable length of approximately 345 meters and widths of 12 and 15 meters, respectively.
Weir system: A roller weir with three weir sections for regulating the water level.
