These old tank roads were originally built as a military training area during the Nazi era. The starting point of the later military training area was the Nazi Ordensburg Vogelsang, which was completed in 1936. In 1946 the British took over the military training area. Between 1950 and 2005 the Belgian military used the training area. The old tank roads now serve as a cycle path along the Eifel National Park.

Cycling

The Panzerstraße (Panzer Road) offers repeated glimpses of the Dreiborn Plateau. This area is an absolute highlight, whatever the season. If you leave the road and follow designated paths, you can still hear the song of the skylark. In June, broom blossoms, and so on.
