Located very close to the new Kinzigbrücke, beautifully shady, it invites you to take a break. Also suitable for children, playground nearby.

The Roman fort on the Kinzig in Rückingen was built between 110 and 125 AD, when the Limes already existed. The fortifications protected the lower course of the Kinzig and the border line including a transition. The Kinzig had a certain importance as a traffic route in Roman times, because it was navigable for smaller, flat transport barges. The castle therefore certainly had a landing stage. To the east of the complex was a wooden bridge over the Kinzig, the stumps of which were discovered at the end of the 19th century.
