The Pou d'en Vesa is in the beech wood north of the ridge between the hills of Cuc and Pi Novell. To access it, you must go up forest tracks from El Samont or along the trail that follows the Sender del Pi Novell (PR-C 139). It is a large circular ice well that, despite not being covered, is in a very good state of preservation. In the past, snow and ice from the mountains were stored there to be transported to the plain in hot weather.
The Pou d'en Vesa is also known as "Pou del Diable". Winter was approaching and there was no time to make a well and store the ice in it. In order not to lose the "harvest" of that year, the former owner of Can Vesa asked the devil to build one in just one night. That's how he did it. That is why the Pou d'en Vesa is also known as the "Devil's Well". But of course everything has a price and periodically the devil would lure sheep, cows and even people into the well and devour them. On Saint Susanna's day, the milkiest cow disappeared. Vessa didn't think twice and ran upstairs. He could still hear the animal's bellows coming from inside the well. With a pitchfork, Bessa began to dislodge the wall of the well so that he could make a ramp with the debris so that the cow could get out. When he already had a large part of the wall on the ground, the devil stretched out his hand and cow and Bessa were swallowed inside the well. All the neighbors went to look for them but only found the half-ruined well and the few remains at the bottom. Be careful, then!
