The Bantpolder is a grassland area of 113 hectares that is part of the Lauwersmeer National Park. The area has been owned by Natuurmonumenten since 1984. The Bantpolder is an excellent bird area all year round. In the spring there are many breeding meadow birds, such as black-tailed godwits, redshanks and meadow pipits, and in autumn and winter there are large groups of geese. Many birds also use the area during spring and autumn migration and during high tide. Source: Natuurmonumenten
