The Ezumazijl is a discharge and retaining sluice from 1672 between the Zuider Ee and the Raskes, which is connected to the Lauwersmeer. There is also a bridge over the lock. In 1931 the lock was renovated and the Dongerdielen pumping station was built on the south side. source: janwandelt.com/008
