In 1265, Prince Abbot Bertho II had a city wall built around Geisa. It received several towers as well as upper and lower gates. The wall with the towers is still in good condition in parts, but the gates were unfortunately removed in 1832.

The Geisa city fortifications are still largely preserved. It was built in 1265 and rebuilt in 1594.
