A really great tour👍 thumbs up. However, a very good step required, some stretches to the left below the ruins are partly very overgrown and steep (slippery) Caution!
at the end of the trail you come to a golf course. The last few kilometers across the field are also very nice. 😍A nice route all in all

The Nippenburg is the ruin of a spur castle and a farm southwest of Schwieberdingen (295 m). It was first documented in 1160 and is considered the oldest in the Stuttgart region. In the 17th century, the strategically located on a mountain spur above the Glemstals castle was abandoned and built in the immediate vicinity of the manor house castle Nippenburg. In the following centuries, the castle was used as a quarry and abandoned to decay. The remains of the castle ruins with high shield wall and Vorburgteilen and a massive scouring from the year 1483 were consolidated in the early 1980s.

Surprising castle ruins over the Glemstal. Also good to reach along the golf course. Whether there is a rest stop there I could not find out.

Very nice footpath to the castle. The castle ruins themselves are a worthwhile destination due to their location and complex as well as many open spaces.
