Castel Sant'Angelo, also called Fort Aniola, is a fortress and is located in Swinoujscie near the port on the Swine. The fortress was built in the years 1854-1858 and had the task of protecting the port of Swinoujscie and the hinterland from attacks. The fortress houses around 24 loopholes on three floors for cannons. The entrance doors are made of thick steel and the rotunda has three floors, of which the upper one served as a viewing platform. The defense system was connected to the other parts of the fortress by a narrow-gauge railway, but it no longer exists today. Until the end of World War II, the air defense of the German Air Force from Swinoujscie was in this house.

The fortress Świnoujście is an originally Prussian fortification at the mouth of the Swine to the Baltic Sea, which should protect the sea route from the Oder and Swine into the Baltic Sea. Because of the strategic importance of the Swinemünde, the Swineschanze was built during the Thirty Years' War, which was repeatedly the target of military conflicts in the following centuries. In the second half of the 19th century, the Prussian army built the fortifications. After the fort had survived the Second World War without major damage, set in the post-war period, the decay of buildings now used in part by the Soviet Army. With the withdrawal of the Soviet Army ended in the early 1990s, the military use of the fortifications. The preserved fortifications are located northeast of the city of Świnoujście on the islands of Usedom and Wollin and serve as tourist attractions.

Interesting museum about the history of the fortress, which also thought about the children. Different armor from several centuries can be tried out in one room. A replica of a pillory is a fun photo motif. The rose garden on the roof is an idyllic place with a wonderful view over the Swinemünd harbor.
