Somehow the whole name and also the location of the highlight are not correct! It is the memorial stone of gratitude to the Wertheim princes in the famine of 1816/17. The memorial stone is therefore over 200 years old and looks almost new, but also hints at how important it was to people back then. It stands near Wertheim Haidhof.

During the great famine of 1816/16, with horrendous prices for bread and potatoes, the Wertheim princely couple had a path built from the castle through the Birkenschlag forest area to the little castle. Out of gratitude, the employees had this stone erected.
