In 1926 the first "multiple jet" fountain was built in Cerignola, commonly known as Dieci Fontane, reserved for "Acquaioli". The latter were equipped with particular keys to open the Cannulas and fill the "mandegne", which were then transported on horse-drawn tows to pour them into the razoles, with which all the Families of the city were equipped. It is important to point out that the reason for the denomination Dieci Fontane is not known, given that there were never 10 cannulae.
