Do you know what another important church in Cerignola is? The Church of the BV. of Mount Carmelo (called the Church of Carmine), originally called "Maria Santissima del Carmelo outside the walls and Sant'Anna", was built in the 16th century.

Numerous writings testify to the ancient origins of the building, built by the Carmelites, which remained the property of the Clergy until the 19th century, when, with the Edict of Saint Cloud, many buildings belonging to religious orders passed into state ownership. The Church, as well as many other buildings in the city, was seriously damaged by the earthquake of 1731; the restoration was most likely financed by the Pignatelli family. In 11/1839, the Church was elevated to a Parish.
