On the land side there is still an old hand-operated crane that was used for loading and rigging the ships. The harbor crane dates back to the time when the Büsum fishing fleet was being built up. The Carl Boysen engine workshop from Büsum, founded in 1917, used the crane to repair and maintain the engines of the fishing boats.
