The bronze figures can be viewed separately in symmetrically structured sections framed by hedge plants. The immediate surroundings are enlivened by grasses and shrubs and a gravel and steppe candle bed. The area, which is located in the core area of the fortress and thus in one of the oldest areas of the egapark, was opened on May 31, 2008. In addition to the permanent exhibition, temporary exhibitions of figurative sculpture are held every year. A studio for guest artists is located directly next to the garden.

They are part of a collection of around 70 sculptures that have accumulated over decades on the park grounds. The collection includes works by leading representatives of figurative art in the GDR, including Fritz Cremer, Waldemar Grzimek, Walter Arnold, Heinrich Drake, Helmut Braun and Christa Sammler.
