Holy Trinity Church in Tykocin

Monastery church, currently par. pw. The Holy Trinity. Chronology for the years 1742 - 1749. It has a green card from 1959 and a white card from 1997 as a monument included in the register. Lovely place.

The parish church of the Holy Trinity in Tykocin and the post-missionary monastery complex were founded by Hetman Jan Klemens Branicki and are associated with the works of Jan Henryk Klemm. The church was built in two stages. Construction began in 1742 and the towers were built in late 1748

The late-baroque church closes the eastern wall of the Big Market in Tykocin, it is a basilica-type building with an impressive front elevation known as a screen facade. Characteristically for this region, it is covered with light yellow clay plaster and red roofing. On both sides of the front façade there are two towers connected to the body of the church by arches and arcades in the shape of semicircular wings, finished in the roof part with intricately made sculptures. The courtyard of the temple is closed from the front with an iron fence and a gate decorated with the busts of the four evangelists.
