Alpine experience is not necessary for the Bocksberg-Steig, but a certain head for heights is. The white / blue marked path from Schuttannen to the Bocksberg is a very varied tour ... the path leads over beautiful narrow forest paths, over three iron ladders and a short, rocky passage to the Bocksberg, where you can enjoy a wonderful view. In the other direction, towards Ebnit, a red / white marked path leads down. So if you are not quite free from giddiness and still want to climb the Bocksberg, you can easily reach it on the way from Ebnit and descend on it again. The path is steep (so it won't be possible without drops of sweat; -)) ... but it has no exposed spots.

Danger! Here 2 different Bocksberge are listed! One in Hohenems/Vorarlberg (no train goes up here) and one in Bocksberg above the Kranicher Teich in the Harz Mountains!

The climb is a great way to get your first experience of alpine mountaineering. Surefootedness and a head for heights are definitely required, but the ascent is not too long.
Fun guaranteed!
