Built in 1909 and abandoned in the 1960s Trebatscher lock is now privately owned. Not far from the access road to the Trebatsch boat rental, there is a sign for the lock on the bicycle lane. At the sign you reach down to the Spree and can see from there the lock remainders.

The Trebatsch lock, which was built during the construction of the Friedrich Wilhelm Canal, was shut down in 1945 after the lock was damaged during the war and canal traffic was severely restricted. It was not put back into operation and nature is now reclaiming the former chambers.
