Lake Hullern is ideal for walkers or cyclists looking for quiet leisure activities. The idyllically situated lake offers a circular path with tranquil viewing points.

All year round you can watch the hustle and bustle on the lake and on land: cormorants, great crested grebes, geese, pochards or grey herons, to name just a few representatives of the bird world - and with a little luck you might even see an osprey.

On request, the tourist information office of the town of Haltern also arranges ornithological tours around the lake.

An insider tip for nature lovers is the ornithological tour in the morning when the lake awakens!

You can reach Lake Hullern from the Heimingshof restaurant or from the Stockwieser Damm, car park at the Lakeside Inn, on foot along the Stever.

This artificial reservoir, with a storage capacity of approximately 11 million m³, was finally completed in 1985. Like its larger dam, the reservoir serves to produce water.
