The belvedere tower was built around 1782 on the highest point of the park, the Heinrichshöhe. Plant and location suggest that Spiegel had originally intended this building as his mausoleum. In construction and even in some details, the Belvedere actually reminds of tombs of antiquity
The three-storey tower stands on a sandstone cliff, which was included in the design.
All floors are arched. The two lower levels are roughly carved sandstone blocks, while the second floor is "more noble". The octagonal space is roofed by a round dome, the masonry of the facade is smoothed and the windows are executed as exact arches. The building corners are presented on the outside columns, which carry a far projecting cornice. It is possible that here too, as in the case of the portal on Jagdschlösschen, members of the Gröninger Castle were used. Originally, the columns were emphasized by Kugelbekrönungen, even a small attachment of the dome with lightning rods is no longer available.
After much neglect, the Belvedere was in poor condition at the end of the 19th century. In the years 1905, 1964 and most recently in 1994/95 renovation work was carried out on the Belvedere.
