"The fountain in front of the Town Hall is a loving tribute to the fishermen of Lake Constance. The bronze figure of the fisherman was created by the artist Fidelis Bentele from Oberstaufen; the design of the fountain basin was the work of the Langenargen architect Eugen Hillebrand. The fountain was officially inaugurated in 1978 and is now a defining feature of Langenargen's townscape. It has become a particularly beloved attraction for younger visitors."
