The parish school has been operating at the Trakai parish church since 1409. in 1803 April 4 By decree of the Russian Emperor, the school of the Thracian Church is transferred to the auspices of Vilnius University. In 1802-1818, during the pastorate of Antanas Giedračius, this building was given to the school, until then it was the office of the old rectory. At that time, there was one large classroom at the north end of the building, two school principal's rooms at the south end, and a storage room in the middle. The premises were heated by upright brick stoves.

The building has a rectangular plan with an extension on the east side. Transverse log walls divide the building into three parts, the foundations are stone masonry, the walls are hewn logs, joined into joists from the field, covered with upright planks. The roof is half-timbered, covered with slate on the old shingle roof. All structures are connected with wooden dowels.

The architecture of the school is remarkable. Its rectangular floor plan and the extension on the east side give it a unique appearance. The transverse block walls divide the building into three sections. The foundations made of stone masonry and the walls made of hewn tree trunks that were assembled into beams testify to the craftsmanship of the builders. The half-timbered roof, originally shingled and later covered with slate, and the use of wooden dowels in all structures are characteristic of the construction of this period.

Looking at the upright brick ovens that were once used to heat the rooms, I could imagine the students gathering around the heat source on cold days.
