Until 1870. the strait connected with Lake Galve. After excavating the canal between the lakes of Skaistis and Balčiai, the level of Skaistis and Galve subsided and the strait disappeared. In spring, water flows from Lake Akmena into Lake Galve through a ditch dug

Very nice beach, with volleyball field, sauna (you can rent it), meal, cocktails, dress cabins.
