The Thierstein homeland research working group came up with the idea of erecting a memorial to the little rascal in the form of a fountain. Since 1994, the image of the Schlossbergmännlein can be seen on the retaining wall of Burgstraße, knocking over a water bucket belonging to the washerwomen. The fountain design comes from the Thierstein artist Erich Wunderlich, the executing company was a bronze foundry in Karlsbad (Karlovy Vary).
