On one of the highest drifting dunes of the Stippelberg (approx. 33m +NAP) there has been a long pole on this spot since the year 1810. The pole had a length of 7 to 8 meters and a wicker basket and a flag hung from the top. The pole was used by French surveyors and was called a 'Long Damsel'. Later it was named D'n Blikken Emmer.
