Little is known about the history of this horseshoe-shaped rock. It shows clear signs of medieval work and was part of a larger castle complex at least in the 12th century. It takes its name from a mill board carved into its summit, on which a knight from Lichtenstein supposedly played against the devil and defeated him with a trick.
