Munnikenland is the extreme western part of the Bommelerwaard. It is located west of Powderoijen and Brakel and is actually a spit of land between the Waal and the Dammed Maas that converge here. The area is part of the municipality of Zaltbommel. Wikipedia
It is a beautiful nature reserve for walking or cycling. The famous Slot Loevestein borders this area.
From Loevestein you can take a larger bicycle/pedestrian ferry to Gorinchem/Gorkum.
Or, if you pass Loevestein, you can also take a small bicycle / foot ferry to the beautiful Woudrichem / Woerkum.
