The Powder Tower (built 1686-1690) is a three-story Martello tower. The upper gun deck houses various types of artillery.
On the lower floor, there is an exhibition about the history of Fladstrand and the harbor. This was the base of the naval hero Tordenskiold during the Great Northern War.
In the Powder Tower, you will be greeted by historically dressed staff who can tell you about the history of the Powder Tower, the move to the 1970s, and the maritime history of the harbor, the fleet, Tordenskiold, and Fladstrand (now Frederikshavn).
