The large-leaved lime tree is hollow. It was cut back heavily in 1973, braced with a cross-shaped metal brace and lined with limestone. After 2006, the stone filling was removed. A new shoot has now grown to a height of around 15 m, and the wound edges have been covered over. The interior of the trunk is illuminated in the evenings for cultural events in the ruins.
