Deep down in the valley, the Pegnitz flows around this offshoot of the Lindenberg, which protrudes far to the south-east, in a huge arc, the “Pegnitzknie” near Hohenstadt. The "Fels" is definitely one of the most beautiful vantage points in this area, not only of the spread out town below, but also of the side valleys that flow into it and the numerous surrounding mountains. Can be reached from Hohenstadt on a marked hiking trail (bird signs).
