The herald tower can be found on the wooded slope west of Eschenbach. It lies there less like a tower and more like a seemingly medieval castle ruin. It was built by Carl Wenglein, producer of gramophone needles called “Herold” from Nuremberg, in the first half of the 20th century. The medieval-looking building owes its name to a special needle. The tower is the starting point for hikes on the Carl Wenglein Trail or the Salamander Trail.

Very nice nature conservation center with several information boards. The beautiful Herold Tower can be found in the entrance area. The tower, together with a "castle wall", forms an attractive ensemble.
