De Oude Kuil is the name of a small castle and an estate northeast of Voorshoven.
It is actually a country house in eclectic style, and it was built in 1898 by H. Schoolmeesters (1849-1938), who was a justice of the peace.
The house consists of a number of buildings rising in height from right to left, with a turret on the far left, covered by a hipped roof. There is also a tower diagonally opposite. After a period of vacancy, the house was restored in 1982.
In the interior there is a well-preserved Neo-Renaissance dining room and the house also has a special library.
The estate is part of the scenically valuable De Brand area. It lies on a dry cover sand ridge and there are dry forests in the area. To the east of the estate lies the much wetter area Jagersborg. The word pit refers to a peat pit or pond.
