Bergerven nature reserve extends over the territory of Maaseik and Dilsen-Stokkem. The starting point of the Chapel of the Resistance in Rotem is the most central starting point for hiking in the nature reserve. But you can also start different hiking trails from Neeroeteren (Maaseik), near camping Warredal.
Bergerven is located on the edge of the Kempens Plateau in a historic meander of the Maas. Gravel extraction between 1973 and 1992 created several lakes, together accounting for more than 50 hectares of open water.translated by
