Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Castor Cathedral, built in 1096, was badly damaged during the Wars of Religion and almost completely rebuilt in the 19th century. A partially Romanesque frieze with scenes from the Old Testament is still preserved on the facade. The beautifully renovated Rosary Chapel (Chapelle du Rosaire) inside the church, which is behind the choir and dates from 1669, is an exceptional example of Baroque art in Nîmes.
