This building, which is referred to as the "Temple of DIANA" - in Roman mythology goddess of the hunt and the moon - although such an attribution cannot be proven archaeologically, has a history of around two thousand years. It was built under the reign of Emperor Augustus, who ruled the Roman Empire as Emperor at the turn of the century.
