The Moorteich, located west of the Knieperteich, is bordered by the streets Carl-Heydemann-Ring, Friedrich-Engels-Straße and An den Bleichen, as well as the Stadtwald city forest. A stone bridge on Friedrich-Engels-Straße leads over the connection between the Moorteich and Knieperteich.
The body of water is 26 hectares in size and up to one meter deep.
