The house now houses a collection of over 150 paintings and works on paper, as well as personal belongings such as Drachmann's plaited slippers.
Holger Drachmann was a very important figure in the Skagen artist colony. He was the one who was one of the first artists to travel to Skagen in 1872 and who attracted many fellow artists to Skagen in the decades that followed. He himself literally fell in love with the breathtaking landscape and the simple life in the far north.
