On the site of the former granite and gravel works, which had been used since 1944 as a brick factory in Steinerne Renne and for the construction of parts for aircraft engines, a satellite camp was established under the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp, in which first French, Belgian and Italian forced laborers, then 500 Prisoners from the previous concentration camp external detail on Veckenstedter Weg in Wernigerode were deployed, who were sent on a death march to Leitmeritz (today Litoměřice, Czech Republic) one day before the camp was occupied by American troops on April 10, 1945.
