The village of Fischern was first mentioned in writing in 1300. When the Roman-German King Ludwig the Bavarian pledged the imperial city of Eger to the Bohemian King John of Luxembourg in 1322, the settlement of Fischern on both sides of the Eger was divided between two kingdoms ; The village of Böhmisch Fischern on the left bank of the river and the water mill were part of the Cheb Imperial Pledge, the right-wing Egrian village of Bayerisch Fischern remained with Bavaria.
After territorial disputes between Austria and Bavaria, the border between Bohemian fishermen/Catholic fishermen and Bavarian fishermen/Protestant fishermen was redefined in the middle of the 19th century.

The coat of arms of fishermen shows a fallen blue drawbar cross with wavy bars on a silver background; on the right a floating black patrol, on the left a six-pointed red star. The drawbar cross symbolizes the confluence of the Röslau and Eger, which form the state border, in Fischern. In addition to the German lords, the coming Eger of the Kreuzherrenorden dominated as landowners.
