This girl once stood in the Pergolenhof courtyard on the Wehrinsel (Weir Island). The sculpture was created by Cottbus master stucco worker Walter Adler specifically for the 1913 Forst Rose Show. "After co-sponsoring the cascade fountain for the 100th anniversary, we now wanted to contribute to the 110th anniversary and chose the 'Girl with the Water Pitcher,'" explains Hans-Rainer Engwicht from the Friends' Association. Stefan Palm explains why this particular figure is so important: "Several historical sculptures have been lost in the rose garden. But with the Girl with the Water Pitcher, the original setting is still present, so the original situation can be reconstructed one-to-one in accordance with the preservation order."
