The Vaia Rooster is part of a series of wooden sculptures created by Marco Martalar using roots and tree debris broken by the Vaia storm of October 2018: the Winged Lion, the Dragon, the She-Wolf, the Deer, the Bee, etc.

The rooster was created in a week at the Punto Sport store in Gallio, where guests and residents were able to witness every stage of its creation. Once completed, it was placed in front of the Town Hall of Gallio, one of the towns hardest hit by the storm. The rooster is the symbol of the municipality; it also represents pride, strength, and rebirth. Data: fir and beech wood, year 2021, 3x3m, 300kg.
