The Casara Zebio War Cemetery holds the remains of 218 soldiers of the Sassari Brigade, who died in the bloody battles on Monte Zebio between 1916 and 1917. A total of 6,000 Sardinians fought on the plateau, with a balance of 590 dead, 132 missing and 2132 wounded.
In 2011 the Municipality of Asiago donated the sacred area to the Veneto Region: now the fallen Sassarini officially rest in Sardinian territory.
