    Thailand and the resort town have enjoyed friendly ties since King Chulalongkorn of Siam found convalescence in Homburg more than 100 years ago. As a thank you, the king gave the spa town a magnificently designed Thai sala, which today stands in the upper part of the spa park. Around 100 years later, a second one was added as a friendship gift from King Bhumibol, which can be found in the so-called salt ground in the northern part of the park.

    The two sparkling gold Thai salas form a unique backdrop. The lush and varied Thai Festival also takes place here once a year, organized by the Royal Thai Embassy, the Royal Thai Consulate General, the Thai Tourist Office, the airline Thai Airways International and the Kur- und Kongress-GmbH Bad Homburg.
