Bád Eddie has been a landmark of the beach since the 1970s. The name is Irish for Eddie's Boat, as it was once owned by local fisherman Eddie Gillespie. The boat was towed to shore with the intention of repairing it, but this never happened and she has gradually been claimed by the sea.
