In 1753, after years of conflict, the Habsburg Empire and the Republic of Venice agreed on the Tyrolean border. Boundary stones and artistically designed boundary markers were erected along the border, from Rovereto to the Carnic Ridge. Until 1915, these boundary stones were regularly inspected and, if necessary, replaced or relocated to their original location.

Between the Nemesalm and the Coltrondoalm there is a historical border stone from the year 1753, right next to the Grenzbach. In this year the border was marked according to the agreement between the County of Tyrol (as part of the Habsburg monarchy under Maria Theresa of Austria) and the Republic of Venice ( under Doge Francesco Loredan).
