The mountain massif is located in an exposed position between the Fischleintal and Sextental in the nature park Drei Zinnen. The summit cross of the Sextner Rotwand lies at an altitude of 2936 m. The main peak and highest point is the Vinatzerturm (2965 m). Upstream rock formations are the Rotwandköpfe (up to 2345 m) and the Burgstall (2168 m).Especially nice is the path no. 15 directly below the Rotwand, because very varied:
Gravel path through the mountain forest, through the boulder field at the foot of the mountain and finally the path through a varied alpine flora.

In light / moderate rain the scree field is difficult to cross, as the water comes down from the mountains. The field then becomes a traveling stream. The connection to the path on the other side was very difficult to recognize. However, one can orient oneself a bit at the stone turrets, if one has crossed the descending water before.
Unfortunately we did not see so much through the clouds. Otherwise, a really nice and interesting way.
