Christiansfeld is also particularly in the sense that the city is planned and built according to the same pattern as the first community of brothers in Herrnhut in Germany. The Christian community in Christiansfeld is an independent Protestant community and part of the global brotherhood with cities and communities in many countries. The community's ideology is unaffected by its geographic location, and many of the cities are built just like Christiansfeld. Christiansfeld is known as the most beautiful old brotherhood town in Europe, because the former Christiansfeld is preserved. The buildings are today just as the city was built on command by King Christian VII in 1773.
