A really scary experience, right for friends of Lost Places. It is freezing cold, water drips from the ceiling in places and is pitch black at the end as the tunnel turns. I was particularly surprised that the tunnel reveals itself on a footpath. Hard to imagine that a railway should have passed through here. Be sure to take a (good) flashlight with you! The tunnel is over 700m long and makes a bend - after about 100m you can't even see the entrance and it's pitch black! If you've watched too many horror films, you have to show your nerves here! ;-) In addition to the dark, it is very cool in the tunnel and it drips from the ceiling.
Coming from the west portal, the first half of the path is paved - then there is a wall with a door (another obstacle for people with weak nerves!) - and the second half is a gravel path.
The tunnel is closed from October to April due to the bats. We were there in July - but didn't see any!
