HOHEWARD FLOWMOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS IN HALDENPARKPure riding fun for bikers: The Hoheward and Hoppenbruch heaps on the Herten/Recklinghausen city limits have an official mountain bike trail network. The Ruhr Regional Association (RVR) has laid out a 6.5-kilometer cross-country course (XC) on the Hoheward heap. In addition, a 4.4 kilometer long enduro circuit with climbs totaling 104 meters in altitude has been created on the Hoppenbruch heap, which was built by the Freeride Club Herten.In total, both heaps offer 11 km of MTB trails with a total of over 270 meters in altitude. This means that there is a low mountain range in the middle of the Ruhr Metropolis!The difficulty levels on the single trail scale range from easy (S0/S1) for the Hoheward XC course to advanced jumplines for endurists and freeriders on the Hoppenbruch heap (S2/S3).

It can be very windy at the top even if there is hardly any wind at the bottom.
