Unfortunately it is not foreseeable when you will be able to enter the plateau again, cracks on the weld seams. Hopefully it will not be torn down.
Halde Hoheward and the smaller Halde Hoppenbruch form the largest slag heap landscape in the Ruhr area, many great bike / hiking trails, circular courses, viewing platforms, trails, a trip is worthwhile, whether on foot or by bike.
