The dump Pluto in Herne, full name Pluto-Wilhelm, was piled up from the tailings of the mine of the same name. Subsequently, it was reforested and planted in large areas. The area is today a nature reserve and is considered a butterfly paradise in late spring and summer. You will find it directly on the Erzerbrace adventure cycle path, which leads from Bochum to Gelsenkirchen.
